From an Old, Damaged to a New Multifunctional Timber Shed

Call Don recently completed the construction of a new multifunctional timber shed in Carlops, West Linton, transforming an existing, deteriorated structure into a completely rebuilt and practical space.

The project involved the full removal of the old shed, preparation of the site and construction of the new building from the ground up, including the concrete floor, timber structure, windows, door, roof, waterproofing and rainwater drainage.

🧱 Complete Removal & Site Preparation

The project began with the careful dismantling and removal of the existing shed.

Once the old structure was removed, the entire area was cleared and prepared for the new construction, providing a clean and suitable base for the new building.

🏗️ New Concrete Floor & Structural Base

A new concrete floor was constructed to create a solid and durable foundation for the new timber structure.

The base was carefully prepared to provide a stable surface and a suitable starting point for the construction of the walls and internal space.

🌲 New Timber Structure

The new shed was constructed from scratch with a new timber structural framework.

The building was designed to provide a practical multifunctional space while maintaining a clean and natural external appearance.

The works included:

  • New timber structural framework
  • Wall construction and boarding
  • New window openings and frames
  • New door and entrance
  • Internal and external detailing
  • Final preparation and finishing

🪟 New Windows & Door

New windows and a new door were installed as part of the complete rebuild.

These elements provide natural light, access and ventilation while giving the new structure a significantly improved appearance compared with the original shed.

🏠 New Roof, Waterproofing & Drainage

A completely new roof structure was installed, together with the necessary waterproofing and weatherproofing details.

Particular attention was given to roof drainage and rainwater management, helping to protect the new timber structure from water penetration and ensuring that rainwater is directed away from the building.

✨ The Finished Result

The completed project has transformed the original damaged shed into a new, practical and multifunctional timber building.

From the concrete base and structural framework to the windows, door, roof, waterproofing and drainage, Call Don managed the project from removal of the existing structure through to completion.
